Rosaura has been attending Studio Del Creador for nearly two years. She grew up and raised a family a few blocks away from us. Her life has been hard, having lost her husband years ago to a drug overdose and later her son-in-law to a tragic accident. Her daughter in-law had been attending the studio before her and would go home to Rosaura nightly, inviting her to come to the studio. Retired, sad and lonely, Rosaura turned down her daughter-in-law’s repetitive invitations to join her at the studio for about a year. Today she laughs as she looks back and talks about how grateful she is to have the studio as a daily refuge from the problems of her past. She is grateful for theblessings God has poured upon her family over the past year since recommitting her life to Christ.

We have seen a beautiful, progressing change in the spirit of Rosaura since arriving at the studio. Day after day she would attempt to participate in our activities, but would end frustrated with the outcomes. “Oh, I am just not an artist,” she would say. We would encourage otherwise. Today she arrives with a confidence that she in fact has become an artist. Her paintings are very unique and full of intricate detail. She loves painting landscape scenes and animals. We think she does a magnificent job!

We are so proud of her and her determination to overcome what she thought was a great weakness; today she is a great artist!
