Tonight we were visited by the leader of Tecate’s Municiple’s Anti-Graffiti group.
Word got to him about us through one of the teens he works with in the streets; one of our most active graffiti participants.
The timing couldn’t be any more perfect.
We are planning to start our Graffiti program beginning in June.
The man has vision, and 4 successful years working with delincuits on the streets.
We shared visions for the community of Tecate, and have set up dates next week to talk more thoroughly about how we can join forces and work together.
Please pray.
This is a great opportunity for ministry to come alongside the Mexican government and serve the community.
God has opened a door, a connection, that no man can shut.
We are super excited about the things God will do through this new friendship! Please join us in prayer!!!

Studio Del Creador is experiencing a great season of growth.
Participants are standing up and beginning to give back.
When one hears of a need within the studio family, they are quick to help provide.
One woman is widowed and retired, but with a little love and help she has found a way to make some extra money. With yarn she finds in the studio she uses the crocheting and knitting skills she learned with us, to make adorable headbands, scarves and accessories she is later able to sell.
Christian friends from our church in Tecate have volunteered to help take care of the studio when there are multiple activities going on. As the founder, it is wonderful knowing the ministry continues flourishes and blesses others even when the leader isn’t present for an evening.
Studio participants are taking better care of our materials, cleaning up after themselves, and volunteering to help deep clean when needed.
Participants have been donating material for the many art projects we do: glue, paint, staples, recycled drawing paper, cardboard, fabric, spray paints, cookies, snacks, etc. We have been especially blessed with two larger donations this past week: a microwave and a specialty glass window that will soon be installed in our soundproof drum room.
Studio Del Creador has never seen such participation from their own participants!
We are so excited to see the rest of what God will bring to the community of SDC and Tecate, Mexico in the rest of 2011! Thank you for your prayers!
The Word of God as The Sword of the Spirit…
This is one of our younger artists:
His name is Isaack, and he just turned 12 years old.
He spends almost every evening with us, drawing and calling on me nearly every moment with interest to learn something new.
His home life is hard. He lost his father in a tragic car/pedestrian accident when he was three years old. He is now the oldest of three chilren, in a single-parent home. Isaack knows what true harship is. His uncle, the only male figure in his life, heavily uses drugs. Isaack is well beyond maturity for his years, taking upon many responsibilities in his house. Isaack is one of many young people that find a healthy refuge in the studio, an escape from the trials of life.
One of the nights this week, Isaack stayed later than normal. I offered to take him home so he wouldn’t walk alone in the dark. He lives very close to the studio, just two blocks away. Compared to all the other hardhips in his life, walking alone in the dark is nothing to him, so he wouldn’t take my offer. However, just before walking out the door he turned around and asked if I had a weapon he could take with him. Knowing he was half joking, I took the opportunity to minister and answered, “Oh, yes! I have the perfect thing for you!” His reaction was priceless, excited to know what I was going to offer him…. I handed him a Bible. He rolled his eyes, as I explained it was the highest quality sword in existance and shared with him the verse Acts 2:21, “And everyone that call on the Lord will be saved.”
The next day Isaack showed up at the studio with a big smile on his face and told me, “Hey Natalie, nothing happened to me last night because you gave me that sword.” Praise God! He then drew the drawing pictured above in this post. Wow.
God is good all the time. May we never forget that His Word is the Sword of the Spirit. Carrying it in our hearts is the strongest weapon against the enemy. Like little Isaack, I want to walk confidently in the protection of the Lord.

Romans 6: 10-17
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ministry Dreams for the Future
As a new ministry, Studio Del Creador is very blessed and we are immensely grateful for where we are today as a ministry. However, it is important to us to always be actively dreaming and pressing forward for growth.
Aside from having the opportunity someday to open more locations in needy areas, we have dreams to also include the following programs to our existing ministry in Tecate, Mexico:
theater & drama
singing
weaving
film & photography
computer graphics
etc.
We are looking for talented people to help us develop these programs! The doors of Studio Del Creador are always open to people interested in serving the Lord through using their talents in the arts and music. Maybe you could be the one to help one of our dreams come true! There are many opportunities for you to be involved in what God is doing through Studio Del Creador.
If you are interested in being a part of Studio Del Creador’s growth, please see our Join our Team page and contact us.
